Your Pets Health Needs Can Change with the Season

When I bought my first house, the number-one item on my list of new home "must-haves" was a large, fenced-in back yard, so the dogs I would soon adopt would have a place to run around! I adopted one younger dog and a senior dog, so I have learned about caring for pets of all ages. One thing I have noticed is that my dogs' health needs really change with the seasons. My older dog has a little arthritis, and it acts up more in the cold winter and I have to give him a supplement for it. Both dogs are a little less active in the winter when it is cold, so I have to feed them a little less or they gain weight. I decided to start a blog to share my pet health tips, and I hope you can learn a lot here!

Tips For Finding Used Veterinary Equipment For Your New Clinic

If you are a veterinarian and you would like to open your own clinic in the near future, but you are going to need to do so with a budget, then you might want to check out the following points. By using the following tips to find the best used veterinary equipment, such as veterinary patient monitors, you will be able to save some money.

Look For Going Out Of Business Sales

A great way to find a lot equipment and furniture that could come in handy in your new clinic would be to look for vets that are going out of business. Not all of the ones that are retiring or turning to another career path will sell off their equipment, but many of them will in an effort to recoup some of the money that they will no longer be earning from their veterinarian practice. If you are able to travel or have everything shipped to you, you will want to make sure to check out the online auctions, as there could be many to be found all over the country. As long as you are thoroughly reading over the description of the items and viewing the details in all of the listed photos, you can find a lot of what you need and have it shipped directly to your vet office.

Look For Vets Who Are Upgrading Their Offices

If you notice a nearby vet is going through a construction project or has been slowly upgrading a lot of his or her equipment and furniture, you could always stop in and ask what is being done with the old stuff. Offer to take certain things off their hands for a reasonable price. This will help them get rid of the extra things that take up space and that the garage men might not want to haul away. It can also save you a substantial amount of money. The money that you save can be put towards other things, such as investing in business cards, signs, and maybe even a commercial that can help local people know about your new vet clinic that is opening up in the near future. Remember, there is no such thing as advertising too soon or too much.

It might take a little digging around, but the money that you will save by not having to pay full price for everything that your vet office needs will make it more than worth it. You will be ready to open your doors in no time at all.
